March 2020 Kindle Book Deals

It’s a new month, which means new Kindle book deals! I always like to take advantage of these deals. Here are some that I find most interesting.

Regretting You cover

I’ve seen Colleen Hoover’s Regretting You a lot recently on various book blogs. It’s about a mom who doesn’t want her daughter to repeat the mistakes she made. It’s only $1.99 this month, so if you’ve seen it and think it sounds interesting (this happens to me all the time when I’m reading blogs) then now would be a good time to get this.

Never Stop Walking Cover

I read Never Stop Walking by Christina Rickardsson a couple years ago and thought it was pretty good. My review can be found here. It’s only $.99 this month.

A Touch of Gold cover

A Touch of Gold is a story of Midas. It’ll be on sale for $1.99 this month.

Those are the deals that stood out to me this month.

Limited Time Deals

I’m not sure how long this deal will last, but Marie Lu’s three main series, Legend, The Young Elites, and Warcross, are all on sale. They’re all $1.99 today on Kindle.

Legend cover
Prodigy
Champion cover
Young Elites cover
The Rose Society cover
Midnight Star cover
Warcross cover
Wildcard cover

I don’t know how long this sale will last, but I wouldn’t wait too long.

January 2020 Kindle Deals

A new month has arrived, which means its time for more Kindle Monthly Deals! Lately, the monthly deals haven’t seemed as useful to me. The format was messed up so some books that weren’t deals were listed, and I had a lot of them. This month, they seemed to have fixed the formatting in some categories, at least. So here are a few of the ones I’d like to highlight for this month:

Bitter Sweet Love cover

There are two books to Jennifer L. Armentrout’s The Dark Elements series on sale this month. Bitter Sweet Love, a prequel novella, can be had for $.99.

White Hot Kiss cover

White Hot Kiss, the first book in The Dark Elements series, is on sale for $1.99.

These books have been on sale before, and will probably be on sale again. At these prices, if you like Ms. Armentrout’s books and you haven’t purchased them yet, they’re hard to pass up.

The Beantown Girls cover

I’ve seen The Beantown Girls on several Top Ten Tuesday lists lately, and it looked interesting. This month it’s on sale for $1.99.

Storm Glass cover

The entire Harbinger Series is on sale for $1.99 each. I’ve only read Storm Glass so far, but I really liked it. There are five books in this series, so you can pick up the entire set for $10. This series is on sale a lot, so if you don’t get it this month, it will still be around next month.

The Disasters cover

I’ve seen M.K. England’s The Disasters on sale before, but that could change any month, and it’s currently on sale for $1.99. If you’ve wanted to get it, you might want to.

Enchantée cover

Enchantée, my favorite book I read in 2018, is on sale for $2.99. I don’t have a finished copy (just an ARC), and if I wasn’t planning on getting this duology in hardback, I’d buy this book this month.

Isle of Blood and Stone cover

Isle of Blood and Stone is on sale this month for $2.99. Now I realize that I’ve never reviewed this book (I’ll have to get on it) but I liked it a lot.

Song of the Abyss cover

A companion novel to Isle of Blood and Stone, Song of the Abyss, is also on sale for $2.99. I haven’t read this one yet so I had to pick it up.

There are 64 pages of Kindle Monthly deals this month, so obviously, this is just a fraction of what you’ll find on sale, but these are the ones that stood out to me.

Cyber Monday Deals on Amazon!

So today is Cyber Monday.  I’m a sucker for $1.99 books on Amazon… today here are some deals that you might want to take advantage of!

The Unseelie Prince coverToday, The Unseelie Prince by Kaitlyn Abdou is free!  You can’t beat that price, right?  I haven’t read it yet, although @KaitlynAbdou is really nice on Twitter, so maybe you should pick up this free book, and if you like it, leave a review.

Children of Blood and Bone coverChildren of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi is $2.99 today!  I’m reading it right now.  It’s not one of my favorite books of the year, but it’s still pretty good.  It’s also currently #8 on Goodreads Listopia list of YA Novels of 2018, so it’s well-liked by many Goodreads readers.

Cinder coverAll four books in The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer are now $2.99 each.  I haven’t read any of these books, and I keep hearing about them, so maybe I should consider picking up the series today.  You can get all four books for $12!

Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli is only $1.99!  It’s currently #10 on Goodreads list of top YA Novels of 2018, so if this is a book you’ve been thinking about reading, now would be the day to pick it up.

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi is $1.99 today.  I haven’t read this series before, but I’ve heard a lot about it.  I figure for $1.99 I might as well get a copy.

A Touch of Gold coverA Touch of Gold tells the story of the daughter of King Midas.  It’s selling for $1.99 today, so if you saw this book earlier this year and didn’t get the chance to read it, today maybe you should pick up your copy.

Vicious coverV.E. Schwab’s Vicious is selling for $2.99 today.  Okay, I seriously do not want to look at my Amazon.com gift card balance after today.  There are just too many good books on sale!  I haven’t read this series yet, but I’ve heard a lot about it, so… there goes another $2.99 from my account…

American Gods coverAmerican Gods by Neil Gaiman is on sale today for $2.99.  I’ve actually never read anything by Neil Gaiman, but I keep hearing about this author, so this might be a deal you’d like to take advantage of.

Ender's Game coverEnder’s Game is a classic.  If you haven’t read it yet, you probably should.  It’s on sale today for $2.99.

The Handmaid's Tale coverThe Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood is only $2.99 today.  I still haven’t read it yet, although I’ve wanted to read it for a while.  If this has been on your TBR for a while, maybe now is the time to get a copy.

Stop clicking buy!  When are you going to find time to read all of these books anyway?  Not you, me.  Anyway, Kristin Hannah’s The Great Alone is the final book on my Cyber Monday sales list, and I’m really glad, because I’m afraid to see what my Amazon.com gift card balance looks like right about now.  Ouch.  I’ve heard a lot about this book this year, and it looked interesting, so I picked it up.

I’m actually a little afraid to see my Kindle book haul from over the weekend.  Plus, I bought a few physical books too.

Are there any Cyber Monday book sales that you know of that you think others should know about?  Don’t tell me… no, do tell me!  Just leave a comment.  And remember, these sales will probably all be gone at midnight pacific time tonight!  Maybe that’s a good thing… because I know I spent way too much money…

Kindle Deals THIS WEEKEND and THIS MONTH

Amazon.com has some amazing deals.  Their deals are so good that I often talk about them while I’m at work (at Walmart).  Here is how a typical conversation at work might go:

  • Me: Did you find everything that you were looking for today?
  • Customer: Yes, and then some.
  • Me: That happens all the time around here.  For me, that happens at Amazon.com.  I can’t pass up their $1.99 books!

And today is no exception.  Amazon.com has some amazing deals this weekend.  Not only do they have a Labor Day sale going on, but they also have changed out some of their monthly deals.  I have tried to separate them out to figure out which is which, but here are some sales you might want to take advantage of:

Labor Day Weekend Deals:

Carve the Mark coverVeronica Roth’s Carve the Mark is on sale for $1.99!  This book took the #2 spot on my favorite books I read in 2017 list.  I’ve read this book three times this year (once in Spanish).  You can read my review of this fantastic book; it was one of the first books I ever reviewed on this blog.  If you don’t have it yet, now’s your chance.

Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue coverThe Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue is another one of those books that you keep hearing about.  I haven’t read it yet, but it seems like everybody that read it seems to think that it’s great.  It’s not on Kindle’s Monthly Deals list, so I’m assuming that you can only get this book on sale for $1.99 through this weekend.

Ace of Shades CoverAmanda Foody’s Ace of Shades is on sale this weekend for $1.99 as well.  This book was on sale a few months ago and I picked it up then; I thought it was a great book.  You can read my Ace of Shades review from July.  I really liked the book, and for $1.99, you shouldn’t pass it up!

Let's Talk About Love coverLet’s Talk About Love is another book that everybody seems to talk about.  This book is on sale for $2.99 this weekend.  I haven’t read this book yet, but if this has been on your TBR for a while and you’ve been waiting to pick it up, now is as good of a time as any to get it.

Those are just some of the deals that I could find that are going on right now that are NOT on the Kindle Monthly book deals list.  If you want any of these, you’ll want to act on them right away.

Kindle Monthly Book Deals:

I almost always look at the Kindle Monthly Book Deals towards the beginning of the month, sometimes I might pick up a book or two, and then for the rest of the month I debate about whether to get some of the other books that I’ve been thinking about, but am unsure of.  Then I end up logging into Amazon.com on the 30th of the month and end up buying another book before the deal goes off sale.

These books will be on sale for the rest of September but if you want them, then you’ll want to either get them now, or be like me and log in on September 30th and buy them, LOL.

The City of Brass coverThe City of Brass is one of the monthly deals that I’m hoping to take advantage of.  It’s got fantasy in a Middle Eastern medieval type setting, which sounds pretty exciting.  I’ve seen this book in a few places and it looks pretty interesting.  Right now it’s on sale for $1.99.

Fawkes coverFawkes is one of those stories that I keep hearing mixed reviews about.  Some of the bloggers that I’ve seen write reviews on this book have absolutely loved it; others have said that this book was just “meh”.  For a while, I’ve been debating on whether to read this book or not.  I’ve decided on the side of reading this book.  I’m a big history person (as you might have noticed if you read my Top Ten Tuesday list of nonfiction books) and I’m familiar with the original story of Guy Fawkes, so I think that this book will probably be something that I’ll like.  I’ll definitely be getting this for $1.99 this month, even if I end up logging in on September 29th in a panic because I haven’t bought this one yet.

Poison Study coverI don’t know too much about Poison Study, but I’ve seen a couple people mention this on their Top Ten Tuesday lists of books that they really like.  This book will be on sale for $1.99 for the rest of September.  If this has been on your TBR, now would be the time to pick it up.

These are just some of the books that are on sale on Amazon.com right now.  If you want to see more, here is a list of books that are on sale RIGHT NOW and books that will continue to be on sale through the month of September.  There’s probably something there for everyone.

Wildcard Pre-Order Info! And My Wonderful Day!

Wildcard Pre-Order Gifts

I know that I just posted my Top Ten Tuesday post, but I was so excited to tell you all about this that I just had to post it tonight before I went to bed.  Sunday I mentioned that Life After Legend II was going to be offered as a pre-order gift, but now I have pictures!  And a link!

So here’s all of the details.  Not only do you get Life After Legend II when you pre-order Wildcard, but you also get some Wildcard buttons and a postcard with a thank you note from Marie Lu.  They look completely awesome.

You can get your own pre-order gifts by filling out the pre-order gift form.  If you still haven’t ordered your copy of Wildcard, you can click on this Wildcard link.

Oh, and if anybody has a copy of the original Warcross pre-order gift Life After Legend that they want to part with, I’d be happy to buy it off of you for a reasonable price.  I’d be willing to send money via Paypal, or I could send you a finished copy of another book (I’m sorry, I only have two physical ARCs and they’re not for really sought after books), or I would be happy to pay it forward and fulfill a #bookishwish for someone else if you’re interested.  It’s probably a long shot because I never see it up for sale on eBay, but you never know.  You could either email me, or you could send me a DM on Twitter @Brookelorren.

Part 2:  My Great Day!

So that was only part of my wonderful day today (I already knew what the gifts were because I saw Penguin Teen’s video on Friday).  Anyway, it started out kinda boring because I had to finish rewriting the booklet I hand out to my Spanish students, but then, I had a short amount of time to write fiction after that.

And I finished chapter 22 of Like Normal People!  Yay!

You have NO CLUE how much writer’s block I had with that chapter.  Ugh.  I literally wrote two novellas, four short stories, and most of the first draft of another novel while I was trying to overcome writer’s block with that chapter.  And for the last week or so, I’ve had a hard time writing anything at all… on the days that I had time to write, I could crank out a sentence or two if I was lucky, and on a few days, “writing” consisted of highlighting passages that I wanted to expand upon.  And then I did this!  I was doing the happy dance on my way to work today.

Chapters 23 through 25 should be really easy to write too (it only will have 25 chapters).  I came up with what I want the rest of chapter 23 to look like while I was at work today, and I’ve known what I wanted chapters 24 and 25 to look like for months.  So I’m so excited to be wrapping this one up.

I hope you have a great day!

August Monthly Deals on Amazon.com!

I have recently discovered how wonderful Amazon.com’s sales can be.  While I’ve known for a while that Amazon has plenty of free books, I’ve often found them to be either books in the public domain or ones that were just “meh” to me.  However, if you look at the right time, you can find books on sale that might already be on your TBR for $1.99 or $2.99.  Here are the books that are on sale in August that I’m most interested in (or have already read):

Renegades CoverMarissa Meyer’s Renegades is on sale this month for $2.99!  I haven’t read it yet, but it’s been on a lot of people’s favorite book lists.  Maybe it will be one of your favorites!

Three Dark Crowns coverThree Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake is on sale this month for $1.99!  It sounds like an interesting story and I’ve thought about getting it.  Now would be a good time to do so.

I’m not a huge fan of superheroes, so I’ll probably pass on this one myself, but Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo is on sale for $1.99 this month.  It’s part of the DC Icons series.

Batman coverAlthough I’m not a fan of superheroes, I do like everything that Marie Lu publishes, and I did like her Batman: Nightwalker.  It’s on sale for $1.99 this month!

Those are the books that seemed most interesting to me that are on sale at Amazon.com this month.  This link will lead you to a list of the rest of the great August 2018 deals, if you’re interested in seeing more!
